The region of Walcha is located in the New England High Country region of New South Wales, Australia. It is approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.
The town of Walcha is the major center of the region, and has a population of around 1,700. Agriculture, forestry and tourism are the main industries in the area.
